A few of the things we really stand for:
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Every Dutch person uses over two hundred kilos (440 pounds) of paper a year! It makes up almost a quarter of our total waste. Most paper is only used once; note sheets, newspapers, and cardboard packaging. Used paper and cardboard can be turned into new paper. Creating 1,000 grams of paper requires around 1,500 kilos of wood. Globally, around 36 football pitches worth of forest is disappearing every minute, especially in the tropical forests in the South-American Amazon, the African Congo Basin and South-East Asia. Deforestation also accounts for 15% of global CO2-emissions, making it a significant contributor to climate change. The FSC is an international organisation promoting conservation and responsible management of forests worldwide. FSC calls forest management responsible when a balance is found between the ecological, social and economic aspects of forest management. By using FSC materials, we directly contribute to the protection of our global forests and a healthy environment for people and animals around the globe. FSC is the only system of responsible forest management that uses this method, making it the only one supported by environment and development organisations such as WWF, Greenpeace and OxfamNovib.
